I wonder how other people back up their photos and documents. I currently back up stuff every Friday to an external hard drive. But it’s tedious and time consuming and I wonder if there’s a better (but also free) way to do it.
I am starting to find it irksome when people constantly comment on who William looks more like. I used to do it ALL THE TIME with my nephews, without even realizing I did it, and now I would like to offer a blanket apology to their parents. I am SO SORRY for being annoying or irritating about anything and everything that I might have been annoying and irritating about without realizing it. I didn’t mean to be. Your kids are adorable and it goes without saying that they inherited some traits and looks from both of their parents. Because, duh, gene pools are cool.
Why do cities seem to repave their major streets in August and September? And it seems as if they do this on a schedule of every four years. Someone once told me that it was linked to election time, but that makes no sense to me, but I wonder if that’s true or coincidental?
The only thing I like about pumping is that I can get things done that I can’t get done otherwise.
I’ve stopped eating watermelon for the most part because I think it makes me bloat, and I have no idea why that would be, because it’s supposed to be a natural diuretic.
I wonder if getting a Mifi would be a good alternative to the hard wired ISP access I have at home. We have 4-5 computers that we run at home, but I’m tired of paying $40 per month… some of the mifi’s I’ve seen offer support for up to 6 computers. Hmmm.
watermelon is on the no-no list for people with IBS because of its issues with bloating! I just learned that this week, so I figured I would share! Yay me. lol
The only thing that irritates me is when folks say the boys all look like Tommy, I’m the one who “baked” them for 10+ months, I want them to look like me 🙂 lol
I agree with the paving thing, getting around here is awful now with road construction,a nd we aren’t a large city, I can’t imagine what it would be like where you are. Argh.
Whats a mifi?
I had NO idea about the watermelon and IBS relation, which makes me wonder if there’s a correlation between that and endometriosis, since the symptoms are so similar.
I think your boys are good looking kids, and a perfect cross between the two of you. That is my new answer to everything. hehe
I don’t know what’s up with construction, but it’s annoying… and I guess necessary.
Mifi is like a personal hotspot. 🙂
I use iDrive for backing up all of my files. I opted to pay $50 a year for like 150 Gig of space. Carbonite is another good alternative. Both offer free space but its limited. I went with iDrive because I have network drives everything lives on and it was the only product that would let you back them up. Others, like Carbonite, you pay per machine. I found that to be a pain. However, given the total size of pictures and video you’re bound to want to back up, it’s worth the small cost. Plus you don’t have to worry about losing an external hard drive or it crashing or anything. You can set up the software to auto backup on a schedule. I suggest looking into it.
I know I’ve said this before, but most people have no idea what being a parent is like until you are one. So I’ll chalk up your experiences about who your kid looks like to that smiling naievity that comes with not having kids of your own. Now that you have a child, you truly understand what other parents are talking about. Welcome to the club.
Look into pricing of MiFi over you’re current ISP. My big issue with mobile hot spots is bandwidth. If I understand the technology properly, you’re running at mobile speeds which are a lot slower than a true ISP. At the same time, mobile technology is converging with personal computing. I predict soon a smartphone will be your primary computing device. If you can work a mobile hot spot into your cell plan at minimal additional expense, it might be worth it to you. It bascially comes down to dollars and network speed.
Thanks for the info re: the backup stuff. Either way, there’s time involved and I guess that’s just a given.
Bah, I say, on the parenting thing. Sometimes it was easier to just have cats, now the cats are a PITA. ha
Yeah, the bandwidth was the concern I had about mifi… we’re with Verizon, so I wonder if it’d be worth it? Thing is, I don’t want to tack an extra cost on, I’d rather do a swap in the budget and don’t know if the technology is quite there yet to enable that.
Picasa, which is free, is a nice alternative for backing up your pictures and video’s–Plus—there are lots of things you can do with your pictures and video’s, in it. I use Carbonite up there in ‘wherever-land’, it is NOT free, but it has given me peace of mind as my back-up for everything, including my pictures, etc., etc..
I think it is funny that all of us tell you who your child looks like—Pulleeze! And to me, he just looks like the Happiest Baby I’ve ever seen…lol! It really must be a drag to hear people tell you who they think William looks like…..What you say is so true—any child is such a mixture of the two people who created him or her…..!
